Open Mic at Flipnotics
Hey there all!
Well, we’re 5 months in to open mic at Flipnotics, and WOW. What a community has formed! Week after week, talented musicians take to the stage and play for a room of attentive, appreciative folks. Each week I’m blown away by the supportive nature of our open mic musicians.
We started out with a first to sign up, first to play format (now known as the “Mad Dash”). We received requests to switch to a lottery. We made the switch, and MAN, did that change the dynamic.
After a few weeks of trying the lottery, we’ve decided to go back to our “Mad Dash” ways.
Since we’ve made the switch, we’ve seen a return of the supportive, interested crowd that we’ve been encouraging since the beginning. More folks get a chance to play each week, and we’ve received lots of positive feedback!
We have also discontinued our featured performer slots so that we can get as many performers on stage as possible.
We hope you’ll come and check it out. We have a great time and know that you will too!
