Joyeux Anniversaire

Twenty years ago Austin had a population of approximately half a million. Ann Richards was the governor of Texas, and Bruce Todd was Austin’s mayor. Austin celebrated the opening of it’s new convention center. ‘Dazed and Confused’ was a small picture being filmed around town, and SXSW was just in it’s sixth year.

What else happened twenty years ago in Austin?  A cool coffee joint opened down on Barton Springs called Flipnotics. It immediately drew all ages and had lots of local flavor.  It still does.

Stay tuned for updates on how we plan to celebrate this big year!

Happy 20th, Flips!
